Environment
Designed and concepted by Pedro Magina, the Good Gully Bay was our British seaside set where our story takes place. As Lead 3D Artist, I played a crucial role in seeing the development of this environment, being solely responsible for all assets and props that would help fill the base of this environment. This ranged from minor props such as buckets and spades, to much larger assets such as the chip hut, beach huts, lifeguard station and surrounding cliffs and walls.
As the Lead Texture Artist on this project, I was in charge of ensuring the environment kept to the 'toon' aesthetic our director wanted. This meant that it had to seamlessly blend with the character and prop models, and adding coherence and unity to the overall aesthetic of our project.
Assets
From the beginning of the project, it was my role to design and concept all of the props and assets we required for the storytelling of our film, as well as any additional assets that would help develop the general look and appeal of our environment. Once concepted, I went on to model these props and assets which can be seen within the final outcome of the film. These assets played a crucial role in the development of our environment, as there is a large variety of props and assets many would expect to find at a British seaside.
Below you will find some examples of these props, but for a closer look please press the button below to be directed to the Good Gully props and assets page.
